Abscess Drainage
An abscess is a painful, tender collection of pus caused by bacterial infection in the skin, subcutaneous tissues, armpit, groin, or perianal area. Patients experience throbbing pain, localized heat, redness, swelling, and sometimes fever. Antibiotics alone cannot penetrate the walled-off pus cavity.
Dr. Majethiya Jalpesh provides immediate, gentle incision and drainage (I&D) under local or intravenous sedation. Thorough evacuation of pus, cavity irrigation, and modern antimicrobial dressing bring instantaneous pain relief and prevent deep tissue infection spread.

Frequently Asked Questions
An abscess is surrounded by a thick inflammatory capsule that blood vessels cannot penetrate effectively. The accumulated pus must be surgically drained for antibiotics to work and for the tissue to heal.
Relief from intense throbbing pain is almost instantaneous once the pressure of the trapped pus is released during drainage.
The wound is kept clean with antiseptic wash and soft dressings. Dressings are changed every 1-2 days until healthy tissue fills the cavity from inside out.
Perianal abscesses in particular have about a 40-50% chance of developing into an anal fistula. Early, proper drainage by an experienced surgeon significantly minimizes complications.
